The Highlands County 4-H will host an Open House on Tuesday, September 2nd from 5 to 8 PM at the Bert J. Harris Agriculture Center. Enjoy club displays, information, light refreshments and much more. The Ag Center is located at 4509 George Boulevard in Sebring.

Sebring Macaroni Kid Princess Ball, a special father and daughter dance, will be held on Friday, September 5th from 6 to 8 PM at the Circle Theatre in Downtown Sebring. For tickets or more information call 202-5530.

Highlands Hammock State Park will host Literacy Day Story Hour in the CCC Museum on Saturday, September 6th from 10 to 11:30 AM. Free park entry will be available on September 6th and 7th when you present a library card, library book, or by donating a new or gently used family appropriate book.  For more information call 386-6094.

Jamar Wildlife Studio and Pioneer Taxidermy presents an Outdoor Adventures Expo on Saturday, September 6th from 10 AM to 5 PM with free admission and parking. A 50/50 drawing will be held to benefit Sebring Meals on Wheels. The expo will be held at 12385 US Highway 98 in Sebring. For more information call 863-604-7588.

The Children's Museum of the Highlands invites you the Sebring's Second Round of Beer on Saturday, September 6th starting at 6 PM on the Circle in Sebring. Experience over 30 craft beers from around the Nation and food from area restaurants. For tickets or more information call 385-5437. All proceeds benefit the Children's Museum.

The Edge Cheer Center All-Stars will hold a Sparkle & 'Stache Dash 5k at Sun N Lake Community Center on Saturday, September 13th at 8 AM with registration and packet pick up at 7. Registration is $30.00 through September 11th and $35.00 on Race Day. For more information call 471-0085.

The Sebring High School Cheerleaders will host their annual Chicken Barbeque Fundraiser on Friday, September 19th from 3 to 7 PM at Firemen's Field. Dine in or take out will be available at the main entrance of the fair grounds near the baseball field. Tickets are $7.00 and are available from Sebring High School Cheerleaders or by calling 381-8770.

The Second Annual Avon Park Champions Club Golf Tournament will be held at River Greens Golf Club on Saturday, September 20th with an 8 AM tee time. Highlands Hammock State Park presents Haunted Hammock on October 24th and 25th. Come join the kid-friendly no scare area for Little Goblins from 5:30 to 7 PM or the Haunted House and Trams for youth and adults.
