Downtown Sebring Merchants will host Throwback Thursday every Thursday with lots of stores open late, music and fun. For more information and events visit www.DowntownSebring.org

The Sebring Rotary Club will hold their 52nd Anniversary Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday, February 25th from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the Sebring Fairgrounds. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. Proceeds will benefit local youth projects.

The 47th Annual Pioneer Park Days will be held through March 1st with a huge flea market, tractor and farm equipment displays, live entertainment and much more. Tickets are $2.00 per day or $5.00 for a weekly pass. Pioneer Park is located at the intersection of US 17 and State Road 64 in Zolfo Springs.

The Highlands County Concert Band will hold a concert on Thursday, February 26th at 7 PM at South Florida State College. Tickets are $7.00. For tickets or  more information call Sophie at 386-4383.

South Florida State College Avon Park Campus will host a 1-day WRITE ON! Author's Conference including workshops, panels, keynote speaker, interviews with agents and editors and more on Friday, February 27th. The conference fee is $100.00. For more information call Lauren at 863-784-7388.

The Humane Society of Highlands County will hold their Annual Fundraiser Rummage Sale on Saturday, February 28th at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agricultural  Center. For more information or to make a donation call 214-6508.

Emmanuel United Church of Christ will hold their Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, February 28th from 7 AM to 12:30 PM.  The church is located at 3115 Hope Street, off of Hammock Road in Sebring

The YMCA presents Run the Lake 15K hosted by Fleet Apparel and Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant on Saturday, February 28th starting at 7:30 AM from Don Jose's. Race the 15K or grab a friend for a two person relay. A Corn Hole Tournament will start at 10:30 AM with proceeds to benefit the Strong Kids Campaign. For more information call the YMCA at 382-9622.

A Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 28th at Pinecrest Golf Club to benefit the American Cancer Society starting at 7:30 AM. For more information or to register call Earlene at 257-4691.

The Palms Estates of Lorida will hold their Annual Spring Festival on Saturday, February 28th from 8 AM to 2 PM. The festival will include a yard sale, car wash, craft sale, bake sale and much more.

The Inaugural Dwayne Council 5K Run/Walk for Peace will be held on Saturday, February 28th at the Avon Park Recreation Center starting at 8:30 AM. Games, jump houses, entertainment and more will also be a part of this celebration of peace. For more information visit www.champions-elite.com.

The Breakfast Rotary and the Avon Park CRA presents Music on the Mall featuring Latin Music-Manny on Saturday, February 28th from 5 to 8 PM at The Bandstand on Main Street. Bring your own chair. The Jarrett Family Foundation presents a Rock-N-Glow 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, February 28th at 6:30 PM. Come early for music, games and food. The fun starts at 3:30 PM at the Lake Placid High School Football Stadium at 438 Dal Hall Boulevard. All proceeds will benefit Lake Placid Middle School AVID and PTO programs.

The Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park presents Music in the Park on Saturday, February 28th from 7 to 9 PM featuring the California Toe Jam Band. Admission is $5.00 per person with children 12 and under free. Park admission is waved after 6PM. Bring blankets or chairs. Proceeds benefit park improvements.

First Baptist Church of Avon Park presents a Gospel Concert featuring The Browns on Sunday, March 1st at 6 PM. The church is located at 100 North Lake Avenue in Avon Park. For more information call 453-6681.

The Sebring FFA Alumni Annual Pulled Pork BBQ will be held on Thursday, March 5th from 4 to 6:30 PM at the Highlands County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $7.00.

The 6th Annual SFSC Panther 5K Run/Walk and 50-Mile Bike Ride will be held at SFSC Highlands Campus in Avon Park on Saturday, March 7th with sign-in at 7 AM. Proceeds will benefit the SFSC Athletics. For more information visit www.southflorida.edu/giving/panther-5k

The Lake Placid Athletic Association presents the Inaugural Spring Sports BBQ and Car Show on Saturday, March 7th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Roger Scarborough Memorial Field. Come and enjoy the car show, food, music, clowns, face painting and much more.

A Battle of the Bands will be held on Main Street in Avon Park on Saturday, March 7th from 10 AM to 6 PM. Longshot, Trace, Tap, The Mickey Finn Band and The Shaffer Hill Band will all take the stage will you enjoy the chili cook-off, Nasgrass, classic cars and motorcycle showcase and much more.

The Highlands Art League will hold it's annual wine tasting fundraiser themed "Race to Taste International Wine, Beer and Culinary Tasting Gala" celebrating the kickoff to the 12 Hours of Sebring.
