Lake Placid High School Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 1 PM at South Florida State College.

A Lake Placid Youth Flag Football Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 9 AM at Lake June Ball Field. Preregistration before May 31st. $20.00 per person 16+ 10 man teams. The Avon Park Air Force Range is holding its annual Free Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 4th. Registration is from 7 to 8:30 AM at the Austin Hammock Campground. Fishing is 9 to 11 AM with weigh-in, contests, prizes, free lunch and award ceremony. All participants must be 16 or younger and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
