Walker Memorial Academy will hold a fundraiser car wash on Friday, May 17th from 1 to 3 PM. The school is located at 1525 West Avon Boulevard in Avon Park.

The Sebring Blue Streaks Blue/White Game and BBQ will be held at Firemen's Field in Sebring on Friday, May 17th. The BBQ will be from 4 to 6 and the game starts at 6:30 PM. Admission is $2.00 for both JV and Varsity games. BBQ tickets are $8.00.

Downtown Sebring presents the Downtown Community Sidewalk Garage Sale and Farmer's Market from 7 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, May 18th. A sale is also scheduled for June 15th. Vendor spaces are available by calling 382-2649 or visit, www.DestinationDowntownSebring.com

American Legion Riders will host an Inaugural State Rally Friday, May 17th through Sunday, May 19th at the America Legion Post 69 at 1301 West Bell Street in Avon Park. Local Boy Scout Troop 827 will hold their annual All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast and Car Wash on Saturday, May 18th from 8 to 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church is located at 3235 Grand Prix Drive. For more information call 382-8015.

Sebring's longest running golf tournament, the 30th Annual Blue Streak Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, May 18th with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM at Highlands Ridge Golf Course. For more information call Coach Scott at 471-5507.

Highlands Youth Football will hold their Inaugural Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 18th with at shotgun start at 8:30 AM at Sebring Municipal Golf Course. To register or for more information call Kay Howell at 381-3536.

The Highlands County YMCA will host a 3-on-3 Basketball Tourney for ages 16 and up on Saturday, May 18th starting at 10 AM. For more information call 382-9622.

The Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce will host a 5K-10K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 18th at Devane Park. Proceeds will benefit the kids of the Miracle Baseball League. For more information call 386-1300.

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life will be held in Avon Park at the Community Mall on Museum Avenue starting at noon on Saturday, May18th through May 19th. Come support your favorite teams, enjoy entertainment, games and much more all for a great cause.

St. John United Methodist Church will host at Benefit Spaghetti Dinner for the Serrano Family on Saturday, May 18 with serving times of 4, 5 and 6 PM. Tanglewood will host an Armed Forces Day Dance to the music of Good Stuff on Saturday, May 18th from 7 to 10 PM. Admission is $4.00 for Tanglewood residents and $6.00 for guests. BYOB and snacks to share, ice will be provided.

A Spring football game will be held on Friday, May 24th at 7 PM as the Sebring Blue Streaks take on the Avon Park Red Devils at Firemen's Field in Sebring. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids.

The Sebring High School Blue Streaks Football team will hold a fundraiser car wash and watermelon sale on Saturday, May 25th from 8 AM to 5 PM at Eye Express on Highway 27 the Parkway, the Boys and Girls Club and the BP in South Sebring's Publix parking lot.

The Lake Placid High School Varsity Cheerleaders will hold a fundraiser car wash at Seacoast Bank on Saturday, May 25th from 9 AM to 1 PM.

STR8 UP Youth Ministry will hold a Memorial Day Celebration on Saturday, May 25th from 11 AM to 3 PM at 113 South Main Avenue in Lake Placid. Enjoy waterslides, music, food, flag dedication and much more. For more information call 699-1480.

A Night to Remember, the Highlands County NAACP presents "An Adult Affair" on Saturday, May 25th from 7 PM to 12 AM at the Highlands Inn with entertainment by The Music Makers. Tickets are $25.00. The Highlands County YMCA will host a fundraiser yard sale on Saturday, June 1st from 8 AM to 2 PM with proceeds benefiting the Healthy Kids Campaign. Donations are being are being accepted with pick-up and receipts available. For more information call 382-9622.

The Sebring Parkway Church of Christ has re-opened their clothing room with clothing for children, women, and men as well as some household items. The room will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM. You must have picture ID to be admitted. The church is located at 3800 Sebring Parkway.

The Highlands Shrine Club's Flea Market is open every Saturday from 8 AM to Noon. Breakfast will be served for a $4.00 donation from 8 AM to 10 AM. After breakfast, check out the bargain prices on furniture, clothing, books, house hold items and much more. Vendors are welcome. The Highlands Shrine Club is located at 2604 State Road 17 South.

The Avon Park Depot Museum is open 10 AM to 3 PM on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The museum will also be open the first Saturday of each month. For more information call 453-3525.
