Highlands Hammock State Park invites you to their first Earth Day Event.  From 10am to 3pm Saturday, April 1st.  Learn about local agencies and organizations that are working to make a difference in our community and for our earth.  Exhibits, guided nature walks and children's activities will be ongoing all day.  Dr. Gary Mormino will lecture on the history and future of Florida.  Younger visitors can work on activities to become a Jr. Ranger.  Children who complete an Earth Day scavenger hunt will receive a free pair of starter binoculars. 

The Highlands County Orchid Society will hold its 11th annual orchid show "Orchids on Parade" at the Bert J. Harris Ag Center in Sebring on Saturday, April 1st from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, April 2nd from 10 AM to 4 PM. For more information call Peter at 863-699-1575.

The Frostproof Jamboree is Keeping the Legends Alive at the American Legion Post #95 every Tuesday through April with 2 shows from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Come and enjoy country, blues, bluegrass, gospel and comedy with the Passing Thru Country Music Band. Admission is $5.00 and concessions will be available. The Heartland Barbershop Chorus presents Shave and a Haircut featuring International Bronze Medal Finalist Signature on Saturday, April 8th with two shows at 2 and 7 PM.
